"How does the mission of the Church intersect with and complement wider efforts to address poverty across society?”
Mark Sheard, Chair of the Mission and Public Affairs Council
In February 2026, the Church of England’s General Synod will consider how, guided by the Anglican Marks of Mission and informed by the voices of those with lived experience of poverty, the Church of England - nationally and locally - can take both a practical and prophetic role in working to end poverty.
This webinar will take you behind the scenes of the debate with insights from those who have led the debate, and consider the potential impact of this at a national and local level.
Tuesday 24th March, 12.30-1pm
Lent is a season for deepening our connection with God, listening to his voice and recommitting ourselves to follow Jesus command: “Love God and love your neighbour”.
Join us for a short time of prayer and reflection during Lent, focusing on our local communities and the work of Church Urban Fund and our partners.
Tuesday 21st April, 12.30-1.30pm
Poverty extends far beyond a lack of financial resources. It can be helpful to imagine poverty as a web of interconnected challenges that significantly impact an individual’s or a community’s ability to thrive.
With input from experienced practitioners we’ll take a deeper dive into the different aspects of the web of poverty, and share CUF’s resources that help churches understand and address poverty in their community.
