Church Urban Fund is the Church of England’s social action charity. Our aim is to build a more just and flourishing society. At the local level, we do this by equipping and enabling local communities to address the needs in their area. At a central level, we help shape and influence national perspectives with this local knowledge and practice.
Church Urban Fund has grown in size and complexity over recent years through significant developments, including the establishment of the Just Finance Foundation subsidiary in 2016.
Purpose of role:
The Finance and Resources Team are responsible for the management of financial forecasting, planning, and business performance reporting. The role will provide financial and administrative support to the finance team to ensure the smooth operation of all finance matters. Key responsibilities will include administering purchase order and supplier invoices, investigating and resolving queries. Community-Based Urban Evangelist
Salary: £27,500 p.a. housing provided Hours: 35 full time, flexible shifts to include weekends
Following a successful application to the Strategic Development Fund, the Diocese of Blackburn is seeking a lay or ordained Urban Evangelist for the Blackburn leadership hub who will be both tutor and practitioner in an innovative approach to urban mission.
Job Location: Blackburn, Over Darwen
Job Purpose: Based on the estates of Over Darwen the Urban Evangelists purpose is;
- To make Christ known to the residents of urban estates.
- To place the Church at the centre of the community through effective engagement with all communities in the parish.
- To make new disciples and support new congregations.
- To train and support ordinands, Church leadership teams and lay members in outer estate ministry.
Salary: £27,500 p.a. housing provided
