Just Finance Foundation Programme Director

Location: Westminster

Salary: up to £59,999 per annum

We are looking for an inspirational Programme Director to deliver change through our financial capability and financial inclusion programmes

Just Finance Foundation is a charity which aims to create a fairer financial system in which people and communities can flourish. We address issues of financial exclusion, distress caused by unmanageable worries and debt, and the lack of practical knowledge, around budgeting, saving and spending. Our work helps people avoid and find ways out of financial distress by building their financial capability and providing relevant support and signposting to self-help and services. At the same time, we act to influence and reshape both national and local structures and systems to better reflect the needs and interests of low-income households. Programmes are delivered through local partners across the country working with existing community assets wherever possible.

As Programme Director you will be responsible for delivering change through our programmes; you will effectively coordinate the foundation’s activity, manage interdependencies and have oversight of risk. Leading a team including a programme manager and a programme administrator, you will develop and maintain an environment to support individual programme work with a focus on our Lifesavers and Just Finance Local Programmes.

The right person for this role will have strong community programme management experience with good knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling programmes.

You will be an effective leader with effective interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and partners.

In exchange we offer a competitive salary and benefits package, a relaxed working environment, the chance to join a high performing but down to earth team and the opportunity to apply your skills to furthering the mission of a well-respected charity which works with people of all faiths or none.

A little bit more about us

The Near Neighbours programme brings together those who are near neighbours in communities that are religiously and ethnically diverse, so that they can get to know each other better, build relationships of trust, and collaborate together on initiatives that improve the local community they live in.

www.near-neighbours.org.uk

Near Neighbours has two key objectives:

- Social interaction - to develop positive relationships in communities i.e. to help people from different faiths and backgrounds get to know and understand each other better.

- Social action - to encourage people of different faiths and of no faith to come together for initiatives that improve their local neighbourhood.

Our parent charity Church Urban Fund (CUF) was established by the Church of England as a practical response to unmet need and has been active in local communities for over 30 years. Our vision is to see people and communities all over England flourish and enjoy life in all its fullness.

At the local level, we do this by equipping and enabling local communities to address the needs in their area. At a central level, we help shape and influence national perspectives with this local knowledge and practice.

The background:

We’re trying to do acquisition differently. For us, it is about building longer-term relationships with our supporters and whether it's using the latest technology, bringing more efficient processes, or introducing brand new products, we want to continue to grow our Individual Giving fundraising programme to allow us to help and impact the lives of so many people in the UK. Last year alone, our Together Network supported over 128,000 and if we are able to continue to grow our unrestricted income, we will be able to support even more communities across the country.

Purpose of role:

Are you someone with the influencing skills and personal drive to make things happen and create real change in our society? If so, we would like to hear from you.
