Why not take on a challenge for Church Urban Fund this year and get fit for a cause, transform your life and transform the lives of others?

Run

Run in one of England’s fastest growing and largest marathons.

The Brighton Marathon is on Sunday 14th April 2019, starting in Preston Park and snaking through the city centre and along the seafront. The final mile along Madeira Drive boasts roaring crowds and a spectacular finishing straight! This is the second most popular marathon after London, and the Church Urban Fund has three places to fill: could you run for us?

Alternatively, if you fancy a marathon or half closer to home let us know and we will work together to make this happen.

Climb

Standing at 5,895m tall Mount Kilimanjaro is Africa’s tallest mountain; this trek is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Our adventure begins on September 26th 2019 as we fly from London to Tanzania where our Global Adventures representative will ensure we are fully looked after every step of the way until our arrival home on October 6th. Our trek takes us along the beautiful Machame route, which allows us to gradually acclimatise to the altitude as we climb to the summit. We’ll trek through dense tropical rainforest all the way up to the snow-capped peak to witness awe-inspiring views. This is a tough but spectacularly rewarding challenge, and really is a unique opportunity, so join us and conquer the mighty Mount Kilimanjaro!

There are two payment and fundraising options to choose from and full details will be provided when you register interest.

Ride

The RideLondon 100 on 4th August is an excellent event for cyclists of all abilities pedalling through the roads of London and Surrey. Starting in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park cyclists head through Richmond Park, past Hampton Court Palace (a route made famous in the 2012 London Olympic Games), through some of Surrey’s stunning countryside and the challenge of Box Hill before returning to central London along the Thames to be greeted by roaring crowds as you race towards the finish line on the Mall. Church Urban Fund has three RideLondon places to fill – are you up for the challenge?

Fly

Sky Diving is all about pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. Unlike the other challenge events, courage is required more than physical fitness for this once in a lifetime opportunity as you dive from 10,000ft high. You will jump in tandem with an experienced skydiver from a plane where you will free fall before your experienced jump buddy will help launch your parachute and float gracefully back to the ground. There are jump dates and locations throughout the year that are available for sign-ups.

Support

All of our runners and riders will get a technical race top printed with your name (either a t-shirt or vest) and ongoing fundraising support through to event day where our cheer squad will be cheering you on. When the day is done we’ll even get you booked in for a post-event sports massage! As a little something extra to help you as race day approaches we’ll send you some of your favourite type of pasta; whole-wheat, gluten-free, fusilli, tagliatelle, macaroni, tortellini, penne, farfalle, alphabetti spaghetti? It’s your decision!
