Pioneer Credit Union is a not-for-profit co-operative run by volunteers. Anyone living or working in the Middlesbrough authority area can join. Working directly in the heart of local communities we offer ethical saving and low cost loans. This helps to encourage thrift and helps members avoid high interest alternatives such as payday lenders, doorstep lenders, pay weekly stores and loansharks.
Types of volunteers needed: 
Volunteers would greet members, take payments for savings, issue cheques for withdrawals and update passbooks. They would handle other associated paperwork for members joining or making a loan application. Full training and support will be provided.

St Martin's Church Bradley

Proclaiming Jesus in word and action. Helping those in need and being good news for the people of Bradley. Strong youth work across all ages, long standing lunch club, drop in community cafe and currently working with partners to deliver a work club.
Types of volunteers needed: 
Willing hands, listening ears and non-judgmental hearts. Also people with experience of helping others use computers and looking for work. And anyone who wants to help others

Home-Start Bartley Green & Quinton

Home-Start is a local charity, we recruit and train parent volunteers to support families with young children. Our volunteers support other parents by visiting them in their own homes for a couple of hours each week, helping with issues such as isolation, being new to area, and coping with every day family life.
Types of volunteers needed: 
Parents and Grand Parents needed to volunteer to support local families. Full Training given, our next course starting Thursday 17th September 10 - 2 running one day a week for 8 weeks. All out of pocket expenses are reimbursed.

Safe Families for Children

We are a Christian charity with the aims of stabilising families at times of crisis, preventing child neglect and abuse, and reducing the number of children voluntarily given into the care system. We aim to bring families out of isolation and into community.
Types of volunteers needed: 
We are recruiting volunteers for various roles, to fit with your life experience, passion and availability: Family Friends offer encouragement and friendship support to the family. Host Friends offer short stays for the children (primarily aged 10 and under) – from a couple of nights to a couple of weeks respite. Family Coaches add expertise in managing what the family need (in collaboration with our Family Support Manager) Church Co-ordinators (who hold volunteers together in a Church/cluster of Churches). Grenfell Baptist Church

We are a Baptist Church running a weekly term-time Children's Club which is attended by approximately 20 Romanian children.
Types of volunteers needed: 
We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help with the club. Romanian speaking volunteers would be particularly welcome but we'd love to have you even if you don't speak Romanian! Volunteer will need a DBS check, which we can arrange if you don't already have one.

Street Klub

Street Klub is a pop up Sunday school which operates on streets where children live. The aim is to be church upon the streets contributing to the community building and personal developmetn for those who otherwise struggle to access such opportunities.We take a tarpulling, table and gazebo which enables us to do craft, bible teaching, games and offer prayer as appropriate.

If you enjoy spending time with children, young people and mums., having fun and forming relationships then you would enjoy Street Klub. It enables us to share real life with very real people as well as give kids a place to be kids.

Cherished is a newly established Community Interest Company that seeks to 'unveil the true potential and unique value of girls, through acceptance, care and love'. Cherished works with young girls delivering courses, mentoring and support groups in order to explore key issues relevant to their lives including friendships, relationships, self-esteem, family and identity. Our aim is to help boost girls' confidence and support girls who may need someone to talk to and journey with them

We are looking for kind ladies who are passionate about building girls' self esteem and working with young vulnerable girls journeying with them to help encourage and support them. Volunteers are given training for this important role and a DBS check is required.

HALOW is an organisation which runs visitor centres in prisons in the West Midlands. It aims to support family members and friends of prisoners with things like advice and guidance, children's activities and hospitality.

We are a Christian community reaching out and serving our local community: a community that has high needs. Falcon Lodge is the only council estate in Sutton Coldfield and has high levels of deprivation and social needs.
Types of volunteers needed: 
We are looking for people to help with our Tuesday Toddler group (setting up and serving snacks and drinks, organising art activities); Wednesday Lunches (preparing, cooking and serving food) and possibly our Wednesday Job Club (assisting in searching for work and filling out forms etc).
