Increase the value of your donation without spending a penny more.
Did you know that you could increase the value of your gift to Church Urban Fund by 25% at no extra cost to you?
If you pay income tax the government’s Gift Aid program allows Church Urban Fund to realise the pre-tax value of your donation. What does this mean? Simply put, it allows us to claim back the income tax you have already paid and use it to top-up your donation. For example, if you are a basic rate tax payer and make a £10 gift to Church Urban Fund, we can claim back an extra £2.50 from HMRC, making your gift worth £12.50.
There's no extra cost to you. All you have to do is fill in a Gift Aid Declaration form, which you can find at the bottom of this page. Completing this form confirms that you are a UK tax payer and that you are happy for us to reclaim the tax. All donations qualify – large or small, regular or one-off – regardless of the method of payment.
In addition, if you pay higher rate tax you can claim the difference between the higher rate of tax (40%) and the basic rate (20%) on the pre-tax value of your donation to Church Urban Fund. For example, if you donate £1,000 the total value of the donation to Church Urban Fund is £1,250 and you can claim back 20% of this (£250) for yourself. You can make this claim on your Self Assessment tax return.
